Mastercraft began in 1968, when they created their first ski boat in a horse barn in Maryville, Tennessee(TN). Not pleased with what was on the market for the pulls and wakes of ski boats, Mastercraft designed a hull to provide the wake they were looking for, not only for slalom, but for jump and trick skiing. Mastercraft's men are constantly in the development process to understand their customers needs, and to make sure that their boats comply with industry standards, not only in quality workmanship, but also in safety features. Mastercrafts carefully watches and tests each step of the manufacturing process, such as the molds of the boat hulls, drilling and placement of railing and other features, dash assembly and stringers framework, and the gelcoat and upholstery, to make sure each boat is the best that it can be every time. Mastercraft offers a variety of styling features to choose from, like a pickle fork bow that opens up the storage and seating area, a diamond shaped imprint in the transom and boarding area, and great new graphics. Mastercraft has perfected its ski boat performance to be able to tow tournament skiers so they can do anything, such as jumping, tricks and slaloming. Since 1972, Mastercraft has pulled skiers in the National Championship. By 1976, Mastercraft ski boats were pulling skiers who were setting new records in the world arena. Mastercraft has become a big name in tournament skiing in the watersport industry. Mastercraft's design and engineering teams are still developing and producing innovative products for producing improved wakes for surf and other watersport ventures; the latest is the Surf Package.
