The Ocean Master 31 is the pioneer of all large outboard open fisherman.
Originally launched in 1975, the 31 was built to fish the canyons and compete with the best inboard sportfisherman available at that time, and today she does the job even better. She has been called a nearly perfect design and her 25 year production run stands as real-world proof.
Models available:
● Standard and Super Console
● Twin Outboard or Diesel I/B and Diesel I/O

The 31 center console is available in 2 layouts Standard and Super Console. All models accommodate a full size marine head. Both versions are available with a standard transom or enclosed transom with bracket. Porta brackets for reduced draft are an additional option.
In keeping with recent advancements in marine propulsion, the Ocean Master 31 is available with either single or twin inboard diesel power up to 840 horsepower. Long offshore runs ranging from 300 to 400 miles are all in a normal days work for the 31. With a standard 310 gallon fuel capacity, range is an amazing 500 miles @ 37 mph with twin EFI outboards. Diesel range is even greater.
The cockpit of the 31 is huge and can easily handle a full size fighting chair. Her wide beam and stable hull design allow the 31 to safely carry a marlin or tuna tower. And since every Ocean Master is semi-custom, you can have it rigged to your exact specs, no matter how sophisticated or simple.
At Ocean Master, "bullet-proof" means just that. Ocean Master hulls are so overbuilt they will easily stop a large caliber bullet fired at point blank range. This was true of the first hull back in 1975 and is still true of the very latest hull being built. By the way, that first 31 from 1974 is still going strong.
Every Ocean Master is 100% hand-laid to achieve optimum strength. The 31 is built with 20 layers of Nytex biaxial and stitched 2415 fiberglass to produce a tremendously strong one inch thick hull. This is well over 150% of the industry standard. We know of no other manufacturer who uses this much fiberglass in their hulls. In addition, we employ top quality vinylester resins and NPG gelcoats to stand up to years of hard use.
Our stringer system is equally impressive. We use massive, full height, all fiberglass stringers. These stringers are completely fiberglassed into the hull making a truly one piece structure. This is much more time consuming and expensive than simply tabbing the stringers into place.
The inner liner deck of each Ocean Master is fully vacuum bagged with vinylester compound to ensure a complete bond between the fiberglass and core material. This produces a deck that is very strong and incredibly stiff. The inner liner deck is then bonded to the sides of the hull and the stringer system using premium vinylester bonding compound. The console is then attached to the deck using state of the art methacrylate adhesive (as opposed to just screwing it down).
The end result is a massive, rock-solid hull that is arguably the strongest on the market. Some might call this overkill. But with a 25 track record our competitors can only dream of, we think its the only way to build a true offshore sportfisherman.
