The new Hatteras GT54 is the lightest, quickest, and most nimble member of the new GT Series. Whether in the hunt for a trophy, or simply enjoying a fast day on the water, the GT54 delivers big.

Performance and styling are equally important to the tournament fisherman, and the new GT54 is designed for that customer. With over 50 years of experience building premium sport fishing convertibles, Hatteras has an unrivaled amount of knowledge when it comes to discerning the preferences of convertible owners.

The look of the GT54 is based on a traditional Carolina-style sportfisherman with updated and refined lines. The bow flare is dynamic, the bow rake is dramatic, and the long foredeck is carefully balanced against the low deckhouse. The lines are timeless. One of the most elegant elements of the styling is the tumblehome aft, a unique feature on production boats of this size.

The cockpit is designed for enhanced fishing and increased comfort. The mezzanine seat is one of the best around thanks to ergonomically designed backrests, armrests, and support cushions. Cup holders and an entertainment system are nearby, too. When it's time to get down to the business of fishing, there are in-deck fish boxes, a mounting plate for a fighting chair in the sole, and a recirculating live well at the transom. Stowage is excellent, with dedicated compartments for gaffs and boat hooks along with standard accommodations for rods. Teak is available for the coaming boards, cockpit sole and toerail for those who want to play up the GT54's distinct style.

While the look above the waterline is new for Hatteras in a boat in this size range, the shape below is familiar. The GT54 is based on our proven variable deadrise hull with a convex bow that minimizes the impact of seas in a variety of offshore conditions. Hatteras was the first builder to employ a convex bow on a variable deadrise hull and incorporate deep prop pockets in sportfishing convertibles.

The GT54 also boasts a resin-infused hull, a manufacturing technology pioneered by Hatteras. The resin infusion process improves the stiffness and durability of the hull, providing increased strength while allowing the boat to be much lighter than a traditional hand-laid vessel. The end result is great performance: the GT54 will run 41-knots at top end and 37 at cruise with 1600-bhp Caterpillar 32A diesels. The lighter weight made possible by the resin-infused hull reduces fuel burn and increases range.

Hatteras is not a company to chase trends, so when designing the interior of the GT54, we didn't go ultra contemporary. Instead, the decor is best defined as traditional taken to the next level. The salon and galley are on one level for an open space with excellent traffic flow. Cabinetry is carefully placed to provide a panoramic 270-degree view out of the large windows. Custom furniture including an L-shaped dinette and salon sofa is finely crafted and offers ample storage for extended voyages.

On the accommodations level there is a well-appointed VIP stateroom forward, a luxurious master suite amidships to port, and a third stateroom to starboard that has comfortable side-by-side berths rather than the more conventional over/under arrangement.

Other key features include the sturdy electrical and mechanical systems that Hatteras is known for. Ride comfort and seakeeping in rough water are also a big part of our pedigree. The GT54 is a Hatteras in the purest sense. It can take abuse offshore and come out looking like it's in showroom condition.

This exciting new model is just one of three in the GT Series, which also includes the GT60 and GT63. Like the GT54, the other GT's offer tournament-class fishing features, beautiful aesthetics, and the full essence of the Hatteras pedigree.

Tournament Speed
The Hatteras GT Series is about unsurpassed performance and seakeeping. Each model in the series has a minimum top-end speed of 41 knots at full load, a 36-knot crusie, and range exceeding 400 nm. This performance is made possible by utilizing resin infusion technology in our solid fiberglass bottom hulls. This provides increased strength while allowing the boat to be much lighter than a traditional hand-laid vessel. Achieving these speeds while preserving our legendary ride, these convertibles represent the next generation in hull design from Hatteras.

Classic Styling
Design began with a study of generations of Carolina-built classics to create a forward-thinking design. As a result, the Hatteras GT Series is a showcase of style that harkens back to the grand years of sportfishing and family cruising. Each model features a striking bow flare, a well proportioned foredeck and sleek deckhouse, as well as tumblehome aft. In essence, we've updated the look of the Carolina-style boat. The distinctive styling is so timeless, we believe convertible lovers will be admiring the lines for years.

Fishability
Equipped to meet the standards of the most competitive anglers, these cockpits are designed for improved fishing as well as increased relaxation. Mezzanine seating is designed for comfort and cockpit features include a dedicated tackle center, in-deck fish boxes, and a recirculating live well at the transom. Stowage is excellent, with compartments for gaffs and boat hooks along with ample rod storage. Teak is available for the coaming boards and cockpit sole for those who want to play up the GT Series' distinctive design.

Hatteras Pedigree
In keeping with Hatteras style, the comfortable accommodations found on these boats feature thoughtful layouts and luxurious amenities. Underneath these dashing good looks, the Hatteras commitment to quality construction continues with a no-compromise build philosophy. Each model in the GT Series is made in the Hatteras tradition, with robust electrical and mechanical systems, and incredibly durable hulls that are resin-infused for light-weight strength and performance.
