Eastern's 248 Islander adds a touch of elegance for family day-cruising, luncheons, and sunset cruises. She'd make a comfortable but able race committee boat too. Her pilothouse includes a companion seat opposite the helm, with a galley/mate unit just aft. It includes a sink, a refrigerator, trash storage, and an angled double seat facing into the cockpit. With the 150-hp outboard mounted on an Armstrong transom bracket, the closed transom gets a full-width, cushioned bench seat. Both cockpit seats gain elegant, plush, custom striped upholstery, and a teak-trimmed cockpit table mounts on a pedestal between them. To shade the entire cockpit, add an optional full-length cabin-top. With performance similar to the 248 Explorer’s and standard trim tabs to dial in a comfortable ride in any reasonable conditions, the 248 Islander is a seaworthy companion for multiple missions.
