It only has 300 hours on it, mostly from cruising to the local island of Catalina. This is a very comfortable, strong and immaculately kept Bayliner that shows the pride of an owner who takes care of his equipment. It has a 220hp Mercruiser 5.7L V-8 with the Bravo 2 drive. The owner had the larger more responsive trim tabs added for a more stable cruise. This boat was used a lot during lobster season, so there is an added pulley located on the starboard gunnel to help pull in the lobster traps. For this, he also installed underwater lights on the transom. A removable bait tank also comes with the boat. The transom is plumbed to handle the bait tank as well as a salt water wash down. A fresh water wash down / shower is located in the cockpit. The cockpit can host a removable dinette as well for those after lobstering evening coffees. The V-berth has 2 mattresses. When the boat was purchased, the seller threw in a second mattress as the first was looking a little worn. The current owner has kept both mattresses and says it adds to the comfort of the berth. The dinette also turns into a berth. There are all new thru hull fittings throughout the boat and the engine and and outdrive had a major service in July of 2013, including changing the impeller. Which by the way has been changed annually. Cleats that lie flush on the deck were added amidships for better access from stern to bow.The head was also rebuilt in July of 2013. There is a lot of available storage on this boat, especially in the cabin. The full galley consists of a refrigerator, sink and alcohol / electric stove (that looks like its never been used, but gets used a lot) and a microwave. The 2 kayak racks located on the hard top are very convenient and useful to expand your water play at any location. A few extras that come with the boat include: a space heater that does a fantastic job of warming the helm and cabin with the Eisenglass enclosure closed on those cold moorings. A BBQ grill for those fresh fish lunches, a couple of deck chairs to enjoy the sunsets, and a large tub for flushing the engine under power, if the buyer would like it. The engine has always been flushed after each outing with the addition of the Salt Away Engine Flush. This listing has now been on the market a couple months. This is a wonderfully Immaculate 2005 Bayliner 242 Classic. The only blemishes in this entire boat are a worn mattress in the V-berth. (There are 2 mattresses)a small scratch on the bottom of the hull and a spot or two in the stitching of a couple of the seats, which appears to be strictly cosmetic. This boat needs to be seen. It is super clean!
