About Coastline

Coastline Boats is a product line of Action Craft, Inc., one of the oldest builders of shallow draft coastal fishing boats still under the ownership and management of the original family, which started the company in February of 1980.

By being fishermen, listening to loyal customers and gaining the knowledge of our top professional fishing guides, we at Coastline Boats have been constantly refining and improving our boats since the beginning.

Over a decade ago Coastline B oats hit the market place and the owner list grows with increasing numbers each and every year. We have established a proven reputation for building the best-designed skiffs with the highest quality, pioneered more design features for the industry, and set the standards for which others have imitated, but not equaled.

~The Dry and Quiet Fishing Comfort of Coastline Boats

There are some Flats boats made that keep you dry in rough water, and there are some that are quiet when stalking fish on the flats, but not many that do both. The solution to this problem was the creation of Action Craft's patented Qui-Dry hull design.

The Coastline Boats design incorporates an transitional chine at the bow water line, allowing an increased angle for water to roll off the hull, rather than slap. This reduces the noise that spooks fish. A built-in spray rail above the water line, and our modified running strakes on the bottom of the hull, decrease the wetted surface of the boat. and direct water away in a manner that produces a sheet, rather than a spray, of water. This produces a much dryer and more comfortable ride when running through choppy coastal waters.

~Coastline's Pocketdrive

Some hard-core flats anglers are aware they can get a smoother, faster ride from a modified-vee hull, but they have refused to give up the one advantage a flat bottom can provide - shallow draft. Now they dont have to.

Action Craft's Pocket Drive is the most important breakthrough in shallow water fishing since the pushpole. Pocket Drive gives you five big advantages by enabling you to mount the engine three or four inches higher than on convential transoms.

1. Rather than directing water flow to the prop in a straight line behind the keel, Pocket Drive sends water upward. That makes it possible to mount the engine much higher than a convential transom, so draft is reduced accordingly. When used with a jack plate the motor can be mounted even higher.
2. Pocket Drive reduces the amount of the engine which drags below the boat. Less wetted surface means greater efficiency- higher speed and lower fuel consumption.
3. Action Craft's Pocket Drive transom is three full inches higher than transoms on other boats designed for standard drive shaft length motors. That added height can save three inches of water from coming inboard after a sudden stop or in a following sea.
4. Since the engine's lower unit and prop are mounted higher they suffer less wear and tear from contact with the bottom.
5. Pocket drive shoots cleaner water to the engine's cooling system intake. That means longer impeller life and less engine overheating and powerhead failure due to water pump breakdown.
