~The Sport with a 200hp Sportjet is a hot rod. It accelerates hard and has a great top end.

The inspiration for this go-fast, go-anywhere machine was for our friends in Alaska who want a small boat with lots of power and the ability to get into tight places where they're not comfortable taking a bigger boat, explains Glen Wooldridge.

There's lots of room in this Sport and it has the fuel capacity for getting into the backcountry, with 50 gallons of fuel storage tucked under the floor of this all-welded aluminum boat.

And, it is a stout boat. As in all Wooldridge Sportjets the bottom basically has a double hull down the center of the planing surface. That means .350" of aluminum protection against impact damage.

Of course there are the many other benefits common with Wooldridge Boats, the large two-piece walk-thru windshield and recessed bow for easy access for folks and bulky gear. There's a forward walk-around as well. The forward wing provides extra wave deflection and that two-piece windshield offers excellent visibility for the driver, sitting or standing.

The toe kick along the gunnels means extra security for fishermen when they are working the fishing rod.
Another convenience that Wooldridge engineered into this Sportjet powered Sport is the large removable transom access panel. That means easy access for service and maintenance.

On the water, the get up quick and go fast isn't the only attribute that jumps out. This boat has a great reverse; thanks to a special Wooldridge reverse bucket Glen created for the Sportjet (it is available to retro fit 200 Optimax Sportjets). Wooldridge redesigned the bucket to enhance reverse thrust, a big plus when you are trying to back off the beach.

The 17' Sport is a specialty boat, and it is a hot rod. It GPS'd 48mph right out of the box, it's small and nimble and agile, yet has lots of room inside for folks and gear.
And, yes, it handles like a Wooldridge, because it is a Wooldridge!

Sport Inboard Chevy V-8

The Wooldridge Sport Inboard Jet is the ideal boat for those who tackle shallow rivers, enjoy a jaunt on larger open water, may need to haul a heavy load and like to include water skiing or wake boarding in their on-the-water fun.

Wooldridge incorporated some of the design from their offshore boats in the Sport's bow (18 degree deadrise) to help break up an open-water chop and combined that with a bit more through the planning surface (12 degree deadrise) to enhance the ride.

Wooldridge offers the Sport Inboard in a 20-footer, and it is truly a multipurpose boat, eager to please in a variety of conditions.

Standard power is the 5.7 liter fuel injected V-8, but the options are many: like the Yanmar 6BY-260 turbo diesel. The standard pump is the load hauling Hamilton 212 with turbo impeller. The key is to determine specific needs and sort out the power best for you.

Among the many benefits of the conventional inboard jet power is that marinized automotive-style motor. It's easy for many folks to understand and service and it offers the benefits of the automotive type heater-defroster system, a comfort and convenience for fishing friends.

It is this power combination as well, that offers ultimate combination of speed, getup-and-go, load-hauling and recreational skiing, tubing and wake-boarding.
Wooldridge offers the Sport Inboard jet as an open boat with a console or as a sedan with the large two-piece walk-thru windshield. The windshield model features a recessed self-draining bow and forward walk-around with wing. That two-piece design presents optimum visibility at the helm, sitting and standing and makes it easy to load large coolers, people, gear and game, be it from the beach or river bank.

There are many other features that serious boaters and anglers will appreciate. The full length welded side trays, for example. Check out the stand-up gunnel with toe kick for stable, comfortable fishing all day long. The Sport's beamy 6' wide bottom means lots of deck space for the crew and plenty of hull in the water to get on step quickly, even with a heavy load.
