We designed the First 50 in the same way we design super-yachts," said Briand Yacht Design of this new model for Beneteau, "as an exceptional object, featuring the best, up-to-the-minute technology and art, to match the owner's pride." Every element of the 50 contributes to the purity of her lines; the integration of functional elements and hardware on deck, the aft set forestay, the genoa furling-drum placed below deck level and a lowered coachroof. The ergonomically designed cockpit features a double helm position with the genoa winches within easy reach. This quality of design thinking reflects the experience Beneteau can command when working with such highly respected design teams.

While the First 50 was created as a performance racer/cruiser, it is our impressive collaboration with acclaimed conceptual designers that brings such a modern touch in her amenities, making her a delight to sail even when off the racecourse. It is for the quiet moments that special care was given to all the creature comforts on board. The graceful design of the bathing platform, the pervasive sense of light and space below deck and the generous use of light wood, nickel-plated light fixtures and beautiful dark stained, matte finished sole create an ultra-contemporary result. The new jewel in the Beneteau crown of fine yachts, the First 50 was the winner of its class in the 2007 JP Morgan Round the Island Race. Sail Magazine declared her an "Editors Choice for Excellence in Accommodations Design" for their "Best Boats Program," writing, "the style doesn't diminish functionality at sea. This is an excellent example of a fresh, modern look at accommodations." Dramatic interior styling and exceptional performance-a combination sure to excite both the performance enthusiast and the connoisseur of fine yachts!
