This 2007/08 Sailfish 30-06 Express re-powered by 2018 Twin Suzuki DF300APXXW2 Engines (250 Hours) with remaining warranty until July 19th, 2024 including a 2016 Magic Tilt Trailer is in solid condition and going to be a nice catch by it's new owner for the 2021 season. This vessel is being sold by a very OCD hands on deck seller who is motivated daily to spend quality time with his boat. There are 2 general description walk through videos in this listing and lengthy details of information below which will be updated weekly. Please take the time to review in full as we will work hard to answer all of your questions. Reasonable offers will be considered.
This Sailfish 30-06 hull was laid out in late 2007 and completed for service in 2008 with twin Yamaha F250 engines. It was sold new by the dealer in Massachusetts to the original owner beginning it's salt life on the water in late 2009. The current owner purchased the vessel in April of 2015. In 2018 the current owner re-powered this vessel at 640 hours with the new Suzuki DF300AP engines. In addition, new Suzuki "Fly-By-Wire" controls, C-10 Gauges and the Troll Mode feature were obviously installed. It was at this time the seller also invested in new upholstery, new side curtains and a new navigation system featuring Lowrance HDS 9 Gen 3 units.
Overall this Sailfish is in good condition especially with the fresh engines. Any incoming upgrades and deficiencies will be noted below. The hard top is a nice feature and the cabin is clean. In addition to the Lowrance electronics, dual VHF radios, stereo system, trim tabs and windlass, this vessel also has a Simrad A24 Auto Pilot. The Gen-Set was removed, but the AC works great on shore power. The seller has never used the hot water heater so I can not speak to that feature. The Delta anchor is new. This vessel has only been run on marine or non-ethanol fuel. The video walk through should review most of the other details.
Brokers Notes: As noted in the video the port side is showing a little oxidation. The vessel is due for bottom paint. The seller will handle these serviceable items by closing unless otherwise advised by the buyer depending on terms. The "H" on the Sailfish decaling starboard side is missing, but in hand and will be replaced. The hatch in the cabin is showing noticeable moisture. A new replacement has been ordered. This Sailfish is NC registered and titled. There is a bank lien (boat loan) on this vessel.
Sellers Notes: The starboard trim tabs have a new connector harness and connector along with 2 new trim tab actuators done just a few weeks ago. The FW and RW pumps were removed from the floor and installed on new star board on the transom wall to allow room for new battery charger and second house battery. The marine fuel separators are changed approximately every 50 hours. A full oil service was done by the seller at 220 hours. The dealer executed the break in service and 100 hour service on these engines.
Prop Notes: The current props are 4 blade 14.75" X 19 pitch. Theses props perform fine, but the prop gods say that 16" X 19 pitch would be ideal long term depending on your intended use. General performance numbers WOT and Cruise are noted below.
Suzuki Warranty Notes: The warranty on the engines runs until July of 2024 and is transferrable. Upon purchase the buyer has ONLY 30 days to transfer the warranty at a small fee. It's strongly advised to immediately bring the boat to a Suzuki dealer and have them do the transfer for you. There may be a service fee involved, but well worth it.
Trailer Notes: 2016 Magic Tilt Tri-Axle Trailer with GVWR of 14,900 lbs and a carrying capacity of 13,000 lbs. This trailer has fresh "E" load capacity tires with a spare. This trailer has a Kentucky registration.
Fishing Features: The 30-06's cockpit offers 60 square feet of open space, a gracious plenty for multiple anglers fighting multiple fish. Sailfish also tucked in numerous fishing features while providing creature comforts and ample fuel capacity at 300 gallons.
The Express features 16 vertical rod holders, including six across the transom bulkhead, four in the gunwales and six more across the back of the standard hardtop. Horizontal rod holders below the gunwale, port and starboard, create room for six more rods and two downrigger balls. The 30-06's cockpit offers 60 square feet of open space, a gracious plenty for multiple anglers fighting multiple fish. Sailfish also tucked in numerous fishing features while providing creature comforts and ample fuel capacity at 300 gallons.
Twin fish boxes in the sole come equipped with a magnetic catch that keeps the lid open while you wrestle a fish to the ice. A 30-gallon, cylindrical, lighted well in the starboard transom keeps bait frisky, and a tuna door in the transom's port side allows access to the swim platform and a boarding ladder.
The helm features a captain's chair with a flip-up bolster, tilt steering wheel and an angled footrest to meet most angler-height requirements. Passenger seating includes a cushioned lounge that comes with an insert to create an aft-facing mate's perch to watch the baits. An optional cooler with a cushioned top may be ordered for additional seating.
Aft of the helm to starboard, Sailfish installed a bait-prep station with a freshwater faucet/sink and tackle storage. To port, anglers find more tackle storage for lures, leader and tools.
For fighting fish or casting from the bow, Sailfish provides two wide steps up to gunwale height and ample walkaround space for most anglers. Handholds are easily accessible along the hardtop framework or the bow rail. A windlass next to the standard anchor locker allows for easy anchor retrieval.
Design and Construction Description: Below decks, the forward V-berth doubles as bench seating around a removable galley table. Replace the table with a cushion, and the main bed easily sleeps two. Flip up the backrest bolsters to form two bunks for two more anglers, and put another two on the bed tucked behind the stairs.
The caramel-and-teak-appointed cabin also features an enclosed stand-up shower and head, refrigerator, stove and microwave, plus extra hidden storage space and a mechanical room for the AC.
Sailfish constructs its hulls and decks using a combination of 24- and 36-ounce mat and woven roving bonded with a polyester-blend resin. The company reinforces the decks with Spherecore, a bulking material used to create rigidity, and Prisma Beams, concave beams made of high-density closed-cell foam.
The Express' Compsys stringer system consists of computer-carved stringers and bulkheads made from high-density closed-cell foam, encapsulated in fiberglass materials applied during the lamination process. The transom is also made from the closed-cell foam and tied into the hull as well, during lay-up.
The resulting molded hull and deck function as one, providing rigidity and stability in just about any sea and a pleasurable ride even for minor thrill seekers.
Note: The fishing, design and construction descriptions were perfectly authored by Captain S. Lee Bowden out of Vero Beach, FL.
