In Charleston, South Carolina(SC), the story beings with Sportsman Boats. Started in the last few years by Tommy Hancock and Dale Martin, good friends and former boat manufacturing company owners. Both Tommy and Dale, after selling their boat companies, Sea Pro and Key West, kept an eye on the industry and decided that there was still a place for them to fill. Sportsman boats co mes to the market with a strong team leadership and many new ideas. Sportsman boats started over with new tooling systems and molds to create the new ideas in their hull structures that was cost effective.

Starting out with 229 center console at the boat show in January 2012, Sportsman was very pleased with the orders placed. At the Summerville plant, Sportsman began to add more models in the center console line as well as the bay boat line. Sportsman's innovative new designs with a new look, strong lines, and deep hull have become their trademark. As new models have been added and skilled boat builders joining the Sportsman team the future is looking good.

Tommy and Dale having been hunters and fisherman for many years, it gives them the knowledge and experience to what sportsman are looking for on their boats. Offering extended storage, with 10 rod holders compartments on each side near the transom connecting to the center storage area to hold more gear. The center storage area right in front of the motor gives a great seating area with a fold up back and seat. This gives seating for two adults that is more sheltered from the wind and less splashing from the water. Each special features offer makes Sportsman boats the boat for the serious angler. The ergonomically molded consoles with extra space for a deep footwell under to provide more comfort to the driver. A lot of thought has gone into the Sportsman line, backed up with years of boat building experience makes Sportsman the brand to watch in the next few years.
