About Delta Boats

Delta Boats has been manufacturing pleasure and commercial vessels in the same facility since 1973. We are presently building the strongest and most durable boats on the market today! The same solid Delta Boat has been updated to the latest state-of-the-art technology. In addition, if we knew how to build these boats any better we would and will.

Delta Boats Construction

All of our Delta Boat hulls are constructed of solid fiberglass, all hand-laid, and each layer of gl ass is hand placed and rolled out to give the maximum lamination quality. We also hand-sand between cured layups to prevent any possible voids or unlaminated areas. Delta Boats installs four continual longitudinal stringers constructed from 1" end-grained balsa wood and fiberglass.

These stringers are formed in a mold and then placed in the bottom of the hull. They are then laminated in place as part of the final hull construction. The stringers have 1" to 2" of glass over the balsa core when completed. We then mold form our bulkheads individually the same way we do our engine stringers (1" balsa and fiberglass). They are then jig fitted into place in the now complete hull and glassed in place. I've been building sea-going fiberglass vessels for more than 20 years. I know that I build the very best, and am really proud of that fact.

Here at Delta Boats we are the leading builder of USCG Certified Dive Vessels. We also build a variety of fine ocean-going diesel powered sports fishing boats, family cruising vessels and trawler yachts. Some are appointed very elegantly with a high quality finish and the best custom-built furniture while others are finished as "salty" at the new owner's request. All of our boats are semi-custom built to order. Our best sales tool is when a potential customer takes one of our vessels to sea and puts it through its paces - and the rougher the seas, the better we look. Delta Boats run fast, ride good and they are "pretty"!

~New Products

We are currently building a 28 Dive boat with twin 150hp ea. B150 Cummins engines for a business in the islands near St. Vincent. Its main purpose is to shuttle people, diving and any other purpose they my dream of.

An other boat being built is a 28 Sportfish Hardtop with a single Caterpillar 3126 T/A at 385hp. This is going to be a private-use boat in New York.

A big project we are working on for a customer who bought a 1982 Delta Boats 38 Sportfish is converting it to a U.S.C.G. Certified Dive boat. The boat is getting new engines and is being completely gutted and refinished to U.S.C.G. specifications.

The Delta Boats 36'SFX, christened the "Delta Blues" was completed in 1999. This high performance, sport fishing, battle wagon is owned and operated by Mr. John Royster out of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

John had a single purpose in mind for his new Delta Boat; long range offshore tuna and bill fishing with all the equipment required to provide the speed, range, fishability and dry comfortable ride in the predominantly rough sea's typically encountered off the North Carolina Coast. John choose to have a pair of Volvo TAMD 72P's paired with Twin Disc 507-A gears installed at the heart of his Dream Machine

About Express Fisherman Boats

Express Fisherman are smaller than Convertible Fishing Boats and are made for higher speeds. They are well equipped for offshore fishing by being equipped with large open cockpit and fishing areas located towards the rear of the boat. These boats accommodate for short term fishing trips by providing some comforts for an overnight or weekend trip.
