Built two years after Grand Bleu II and exactly the same length, Vivant, designed by Germán Frers, is often compared to Philippe Briand's design. Yet Vivant is above all a direct descendant of Mari-Cha II. We find the V-shaped hull characteristic of Frers' designs, which works wonders upwind in all conditions. Less of a planing hull and less voluminous than Grand Bleu II, Vivant remains very welcoming. This is true of the deck, with its very discreet superstructures, and of the dedicated lounging areas around the central guest cockpit. It is also true of the interior, available in a 4-cabin version with a very elegant owner's suite forward or in a 5-cabin version if warranted by the programme. The aft companionway leads to the large galley to starboard, the two aft cabins and crew cabin to port. Privacy is thus assured, with the saloon and the guest cabins forward.

But it will not have escaped anyone that Vivant's originality came from her hull decoration. Painted in trompe l'oeil, the aluminium hull mirrored the waves with its palette of blues rent by marbled veins reminiscent of spume. Hand-painted by the artist Anna-Marie Cherrier, this "Grand Antique marble" style decoration remained Vivant's signature for fourteen years, before she was repainted during a refit.
