This 1974 trawler is a 36' aft cabin, double stateroom, double head model. Virtually EVERY system within the vessel has been restored, upgraded, or replaced – from the woodwork, the galley, the heads, the fuel system, the hydraulic steering, to the total electrical systems. If you want the safety, power and convenience of a new boat without paying the price of a new boat, you need to check out the details on what has been done with this traditional trawler! PLUS she is powered by a single 120 hp Ford – Lehman diesel, so you’ll cruise at 7 to 8 kts at about 1 ¾ gals an hour, (instead of 12 to 15kts at 5 to 10 gals an hour, or more)!
You can afford to go cruising when/where you want – in style & comfort or use her as your condo-on-the-Bay and enjoy new-boat comfort in a classic trawler!
NOTE: Peregrine (as of 10-1-'09) is having her topsides re-finished, now YOU
can enjoy "the prettiest girl at the dance" as your own

There is great ventilation provided by the many opening windows and passageways. The floor is inlaid hardwood parquet.
You always have plenty of hot water. It is provided by a twelve-gallon 110v electric
water heater. But, if you are going somewhere, then it’s automatically provided by
the heat-exchanger from the engine.
THE FOREWARD STATEROOM
Going forward from the main salon through a passageway is a head (complete with shower) on the port and a good size hanging / storage locker on the starboard, and just forward of these is the forward stateroom with its large V-berth with lots of drawers & extra storage under them.
There are storage areas under both port and starboard bunks, and a small storage area under the small seat in the center of the berths. The anchor locker is forward of the bulkhead in the most forward position at the bow, under the deck mounted windlass. The electric control panels are mounted on the starboard side of the passageway leading from the salon to the foreword stateroom wiring, connections, harnesses, buss-bars etc are easily accessible through this area.
THE AFT STATEROOM
The aft stateroom, with its own head (complete with shower) is immediately aft of the main salon. The head is on the starboard side and there are two hanging closets on the port side. This stateroom contains a NEW full size queen sized bed and a hardwood dresser. There is lots of storage beneath the bed, as well as several other storage areas. There is also ample built in lighting in both the stateroom and head area, and both also have newly upgraded 110v outlets as well. The aft stateroom has great ventilation, with its own passageway to the deck area at the stern of the boat. There are also two large opening windows, one on each side of the stateroom, making this a very comfortable stateroom!
TOPSIDES
There is plenty of outside deck area to enjoy on Peregrine. The aft deck area can easily accommodate deck chairs, and the deck area leading up to the flying bridge is perfect for stretching out for a sun tan or lying in the shade if you want to rig it on the boom. This deck can also be set up for carrying a small dinghy, kayaks, or a life raft.
The flying bridge is spacious and contains not only the controls for the vessel, but built in seats with lots of extra storage. There is also an outdoor table and plenty of additional deck space for chairs, chaise lounges, B-B-Q and ice chests. This “sky-room”/patio is the best spot for pick-nicks or watching the sunset. The deck area over the forward stateroom is a favorite spot for sitting and just watching the world go by while underway. Cold drinks can just be passed up through the forward window so you don’t even have to move. A final exterior feature is the large swim platform at the transom. It is extra wide, and will even accommodate deck chairs when at anchor.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
The complete electrical systems on Peregrine have just been upgraded, and are brand new. They comprise both, the 110v AC system and a complete 12vDC system. The entire electrical system has been re-engineered, and installed to new standards: from both the new house and engine battery banks, the wiring, new bonding system, GFI’s, exterior waterproof boxes, and individual electronics connections, to the main AC control connection for shore power, owning PEREGRINE is virtually like owning a new boat!
The “house” bank is made up of six, 6-volt, AGM - golf-cart batteries, and contain 660 amp hours. The engine bank is an AGM 12-volt, 225ah battery. These are serviced by a 90amp alternator on the engine with a multi-stage regulator. Peregrine also has a 4,200 watt 120v Entec diesel generator. The complete electronic system comprising the 12v DC house and engine systems, the 110v AC “on board” systems (inverted and diesel generator) and the dock-side external 110v AC power supply systems are now up to new boat standards, and will provide many years of trouble-free use, either locally or while you are out cruising.
D.C. SYSTEM
This system has been completely rewired and up-graded to new standards throughout the vessel. The control panels and wire harnesses are principally located in the cabinet directly in front of the lower pilot station. It is easily accessed through the large hanging closet on the starboard side of the passageway entering the forward stateroom.
A.C. SYSTEM
This system has also been completely up-graded to today’s standards. The main shore power connection is near the base of the mast, on the rear wall of the main salon. The main power panel is also located on the starboard side of the passageway to the forward stateroom. All areas of the interior are severed by new 110v (or higher) outlets. A new exterior GFI 20amp outlet has been added in the flying bridge area to accommodate the use of anything from power tools or Christmas decorations to a large B-B-Q and rotisserie. New 20amp outlets have also been added at the galley area and in the engine room to accommodate any future needs.
CHARGER / INVERTER
The vessels systems are serviced by a new Magnum charger/inverter. This state of the art system provides more than enough uninterrupted power while cruising, “on the hook” or in the slip to enjoy your self and your guests, with plenty of juice to spare. THE 2500w INVERTER AND ALL CONTROLLS HAVE EASY ACCESS
DIESEL GENERATOR
The vessel has a 4,200 watt 120VAC Entec diesel generator. It is mounted below deck in the engine compartment in a center-line position just forward of the engine. It is fully encased in a stainless steel sound-shield container. It provides a source of constant and quiet power when in use.
ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT
The vessel includes marine electronics and navigation equipment consisting of: Compass, Radar, GPS, VHF, Autohelm, and Compass. The radar unit is a Raytheon “R10XX” with CRT type display. There are two GPS units: a Garmin “GPS120XL” and an older Sitex GPS/Chart plotter that we have not used.
The VHF unit is an ICOM “IC-N402” with the “red-button” safety feature. A 4” Ritchie compass is located at the lower helm, with another up in the “flybridge”. The auto-helm unit is a Raymarine ST-5000 autopilot. It includes a remote hand-held control that is mounted at the lower helm station. The original steering system has been replaced with a Teleflex “sea star” hydraulic, dual-station system.
TANKAGE
FRESH WATER:
There are two aluminum fresh water storage tanks. The tanks are located under the aft deck at the transom. One tank is located on the port side, and one tank on the starboard side. Access is good, but there are no capacity labels on them, but they appear to hold approximately 100 gals. The tanks have a connection for uninterrupted service.
LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS:
The LPG tank is mounted under the foreword area where the upper helm station is located, in the flybridge. It is securely mounted and is a 20 lb steel tank with shut off valve. The system uses reinforced rubber hoses and copper lines. Adequate ventilation is provided.
DEISEL FUEL:
There are three tanks, one on the port side and two on the starboard side. The two tanks on the starboard side have a fuel equalizing hose mounted at the base of the two tanks. TOTAL TANK CAPACITY IS REPORTED TO BE 240 GALLONS. The starboard tanks were replaced in 1998, per records on the vessel. The complete fuel delivery system was replaced and up-graded in the fall of 2008. A new RAYCOR-500 filter system with double, switchable filters has been installed and is easily accessible through the access hatch to the engine room from the aft stateroom. Not only have all hoses and fittings been replaced, the fuel system has been expanded to include an on-board, self contained, fuel re-circulating and fuel polishing system. In this photograph the toggle switch for the fuel polishing system is visible in the center of the two filters just above the vacuum gauge.
SANITATION SYSTEM:
The “black-water” plastic holding tank is reported to be 25 gallons. The holding tank is installed on the starboard side, under the bunk in the aft stateroom. This is a MSD U.S.C.G. TYPE I. with both a macerator discharge system and a deck pump-out system. The vessel has two Sealand electric “Vacuflush” toilets, which both connect to the holding tank.
