2002 - Cruisers Yachts - 2870 Express

The cruisers 2870 is a stylish mid-cabin express that will appeal to families looking to step up from their smaller trailerable cruiser. A fairly heavy boat at 8500 lbs, the 2870 is built on a high-freeboard modified –V hull with a wide beam and a flat hull pad at the transom. (With a modest 16 degrees of transom deadrise, this is one of the few stern drive cruisers that doesn’t use a deep-V hull.) The cabin layout of the 2870 takes good advantage of the beam, and the absence of any cabin bulkheads makes for a surprisingly wide-open interior. There are double berths fore and aft (each with a privacy curtain), a convertible U-shaped dinette, compact galley, and a stand up head with shower. In the cockpit, the portside companionway allows, for a comfortable doublewide helm seat, and a walk-through windshield with molder steps provides access to the bow. Additional features include a removable cockpit table, radar arch, transom door and swim platform. A good performer, twin 4.3MPI will top out around 40.
