- Stock #52399 - A roomy and easily trailered pocket cruiser, the MacGregor 26M evolved and improved from its predecessors, especially the M25 and Venture 22.This model became very popular because of its trailerability, a comfortable interior with enclosed head (porta-potty) and its ability to drain her water ballast while under power allowing her to come up on plane and achieve greater speeds. The swing centerboard was replaced with a daggerboard to free up more space below, and a second tier of windows was added with standing headroom. In addition to the water ballast (1150 lbs.) there is 300 lbs of permanent ballast for stability, given that this model allowed a bigger outboard. so windage and the higher weight of the engine didn't have her heeling over too much. One need not be concerned about the ballast tank however as it has been well engineered and provides righting the same as a keel when the boat heels over, because the weight of water far out from the centerline on the "uphill" side (in the air once heeled over) does pull the boat back down the same as a weighted keel. This and the above described features carried forward into this M26 model and helped make MacGregor one of the bestselling sailboats. Some of her features and options........- Mast Raising System- Roller Furling System- Jim Blocks & Sheets- Boom Vang- Slugs on Mainsail- Compass w/ Light- UV Cover on Jib- Adjustable Topping Lift- Boarding Handle- Hatch AdjustorSAIL AREAS ARE AS FOLLOWS- Main - 170 Sq.
