A bit of a paradox, the 242 is a study in pure Cobalt genetics, with all the family characteristics of ride and performance and thoughtful design; at the same time this boat brings along some evolutionary, next-generation elements of convenience and practicality that put it in some new waters indeed. Much of this evolution comes in the addition of a porta potti, its convenience multiplied with some select options porcelain head, macerator, sink console into an extra measure of daylong comfort. The 242 calls for pure luxury as well, most especially in the cockpit with its deep, wide, wraparound lounge seating and in the bow where filler cushions and an optional dinette table make, all told, a dozen guests happy to be aboard.
