Long and lean with great sail carrying ability, the C&C 131 promises exhilarating performance coupled with heart pounding good looks. Her stability and impressive performance numbers are made possible by C&C's advanced construction technology. A sail area to displacement ratio of 26.3 in this production racer/cruiser is compliments of C&C's Carbopoxy composite hull construction, resin infused composite deck, carbon fiber mast and boom, PBO standing rigging and carbon fiber rudder and post. Stability is optimized by a firm hull form and a low slung lead bulb on a high aspect ratio cast fin. To allow entrance into shallower harbors, a retracting fin of identical shape and weight as the fixed fin is also available. She is powered by a tall carbon fiber, double spreader rig and ultra light PBO rigging. We believe good aesthetics are an important element to any yacht design. The 131 will use her C&C design heritage to make a bold entrance into any harbor.

In addition to performance optimization, the 131 has incorporated many C&C features designed to make easy to sail and easy to handle a performance boat reality. Her fractional upwind sail plan with 108% jibs is just the beginning. The superior physical properties of carbon fiber, allow a simplified two spreader rig that provides great upwind performance without running backstays or other complicated rigging. High tech standing and running rigging are lighter and stronger, coupled with all Harken deck hardware, sail controls are made with little effort. C&C's new Racing-V boom combines a light weight Park Avenue performance boom with user friendly tame the main sail handling features. Off wind sailing performance is provided by asymmetrical, masthead spinnakers set on a retracting carbon fiber sprit; fit her with an asymmetrical cruising spinnaker for exciting and easy to handle downwind cruising. From masthead to keel, the 131 is uniquely designed for the performance minded racer/cruiser.

It's easy to make a race boat fast, the challenge is in making it comfortable and livable when cruising. Through attention to weight saving construction methods and materials, the C&C 131 is fit with a fully finished interior. Featuring a 3 cabin layout with a large main cabin living area, head with stall shower, full nav station and a well equipped galley, the 131 will pamper her crew in comfort and convenience. Her interior is expertly executed in a stylish combination of solid cherry varnished doors, custom laminated curved trims, weight saving composite cabinets and counter tops and hand sewn ultra leather or ultra suede upholstery. As with her sisters in the C&C line up, on deck and below deck comfort are not lost in the pursuit of performance.

Optimized performance, optimized handling and optimized comfort, the C&C 131 delivers.

Standard features:
Hull
Hull is a vacuum infused epoxy, uni-directional "E" glass and synthetic core laminate, locally reinforced with carbon fiber
The adhesive properties of epoxy allows the structural laminate to be comprised primarily of uni-directional fibers instead of chopped strand mat. Chopped strand mat is the cheapest, heaviest and weakest fiber reinforcement that dominates conventional polyester laminates
Pound for pound an infused epoxy resin laminate is far stronger than any polyester laminate
Hull cosmetics are enhanced by the low shrinkage of epoxy resin vs. polyester resin (1% vs 7%) and the reduction of overall resin content through the infusion process, thus reducing or eliminating post cure hull distortions found in conventional polyester laminates
The vacuum infusion process and strict resin control produces a hull laminate with 65% glass reinforcement content. The industry norm for polyester resin hull laminates is 25% glass content. Vacuum infusion produces a stronger yet lighter hull
Synthetic foam coring is used for maximum impact resistance, stiffness, strength and light weight. Cored hulls also offer superior thermal and acoustic insulating properties increasing comfort below deck
High stress areas such as the keel, chainplates and centerline are locally reinforced with high-tensile strength carbon fiber
Premium grade gelcoat provides superior gloss, fade resistance and resistance to surface crazing
Interior hull shell is painted out for enhanced cosmetics and to seal interior laminate surfaces against water intrusion
Hull is backed by industry-leading, non-prorated 15 year no blister/hull structural warranty
Warranty is conditionally transferable by first owner

Deck
Deck laminate is a balanced composite laminate utilizing Phenol B epoxy resin, uni-directional "E" glass reinforcements and high strength/stiffness premium sealed balsa coring
Our custom resin infusion process creates the best resin to glass reinforcement ration possible resulting in the stiffest, lightest, strongest deck in production boat building
The deck is locally reinforced at high load areas with additional plies of bi-directional "E" glass reinforcements
White, light gray, or white/sandstone and white/gray two tone decks are available
Molded non skid texture on all horizontal walking surfaces
Premium grade gelcoat provides superior gloss, resistance to fading and resistance to crazing
Deck coring windows are located at all hardware installations to maintain the watertight integrity of the deck coring
Molded in aluminum backing plates on all highly loaded deck hardware installations
Hull to deck joint is secured with 20 stainless machine screws installed on 4" centers through a full length 6061 T6 aluminum backing plate imbedded in the hull flange. This method exceeds the recommended installation requirements of the ABS Scantlings for Offshore Sailing Yachts
Hull to deck joint is sealed with 3M 5200 adhesive sealant.
Composite, match molded deck locker hatches assure strict thickness control allowing accurate gasket seal of cockpit openings. Conventional construction uses single sided molding with painted raw undersides
Double lifelines, ORC compliant non-coated stainless steel cable with port and starboard boarding gate and transom gate
Instrument pod integrated on coach roof with convenient wire chase for instrument installations or future additions

Keel/Ballast
6,790 lb. (3,080 kg) state of the art high lift fin with bulb
40% ballast/displacement ratio for high stability and exceptional sail carrying ability
Retractable keel option
Keel design features extremely low center of gravity bulb design that provides overall vertical center of gravity that is below design waterline for extraordinary stability and safety
Fixed fin attached with stainless steel bolts, retractable keel is hydraulically raised and lowered
Epoxy coated fin and bulb
